How to Get Clay in Enshrouded — Revelwood Clay Deposits

Clay is mined from orange-brown clay deposits in the Revelwood. Learn where clay nodes are, what you mine them with, and what clay is used for in building.

Editor’s note: The locations below are drawn from early-access coverage and reflect Enshrouded’s fixed world generation. Where a detail could shift at 1.0 we mark it not yet independently verified rather than guess. Last verified: 2026-10-13.

Clay is the building staple of the early game — bricks, mortar, and a long tail of base recipes all start here. It is one of the easiest resources to stockpile once you know what the nodes look like.

Where do you find Clay?

Clay is mined from clay deposits, commonly found in the Revelwood. Unlike ore nodes, clay deposits look like large clumps of orange-brown mud — no sparkle of metal, just soft earth mounds. They sit low to the ground, often near water or damp ground.

As with ore, you need a pickaxe to harvest them.

What is Clay used for?

Process clay into bricks and mortar, then use those for the bulk of your early base. Clay feeds many building recipes across early base construction.

Tips for farming Clay

  • Clay and copper ore often share the same Revelwood gathering runs — grab both in one trip.
  • The mud mounds are easy to miss at a distance; ride a slower mount or on-foot so you spot them along riverbanks.
  • Keep a stack of bricks banked at your Flame Altar before you start serious building.

The Enshrouded beginner guide covers the early route that passes through clay country.
