Salt is one of the first resources the game hands you a quest for. The Hunter’s opening quest, Salt Mine Location, is literally a guided trip to your first salt deposit.

Where do you find Salt?
Salt is mined from salt deposits in the Springlands, such as the Egerton Salt Mines or the Saline Quarry. The white nodes stand out against the green starting biome.
The objective of the first quest given by the Hunter — Salt Mine Location — shows you the location of a large salt deposit at the Egerton Salt Mines and requires you to collect salt there. If you follow the Hunter’s early quests, you will hit a salt node almost immediately.
