Enshrouded Biome Progression Order — All 7 Regions by Level and Flame

The seven Enshrouded biomes south to north: level band, Flame gate and exit for each — from Springlands (1-10) to Cinder's Cradle (1.0 endgame).

What is the correct biome progression order in Enshrouded?

Embervale is a single connected landmass you clear south to north: you start in the Springlands and end at Cinder’s Cradle. Each region is the exit gate to the next, which is what fixes the order. The table below is the whole sequence — level band, Flame gate, and the exit each region hands off.

# Biome Level band Flame Exits to Guide
1 Springlands 1-10 1-2 Revelwood ↗
2 Revelwood 10-15 3 Nomad Highlands ↗
3 Nomad Highlands 15-20 4 Kindlewastes ↗
4 Kindlewastes 20-30 5-6 Albaneve Summits ↗
5 Albaneve Summits 30-40 6-8 Veilwater Basin ↗
6 Veilwater Basin 35-45 8-9 Cinder’s Cradle ↗
7 Cinder’s Cradle 45+ (1.0) — — (new endgame) ↗

These bands are the early-access planning values from each region’s own guide page. The Flame gate in particular is a soft wall: the Shroud pressure around your camp is what makes an under-prepared push fatal, so treat the number as a floor, not a ceiling.

Why do Level and Flame both gate progression?

Two axes run in parallel, and both have to clear before a region is safe:

  • Character level sets your baseline stats and the gear tiers you can equip. A region’s level band is the range that region’s content expects.
  • Flame level is the Shroud gate. It decides how much mist you can survive near a camp and which boss arenas are reachable. This is the axis players underestimate — you can be the “right” level and still die to a biome whose Flame you have not cleared.

Because the Flame axis is the one that actually kills you, the practical rule is: defeat the region’s boss, raise the Flame, then move on. The Flame Altar guide covers how the safe zone and the upgrade chain work.

What is in each region?

Each biome pairs its Flame gate with a boss fight and a handful of named structures. The one-boss-per-region summary is below; the per-region guide carries the full named-content list.

Region Boss gate Named structures
Springlands Scavenger Matron (Flame 3) First Flame Altar, Ancient Spires
Revelwood Fell Critter Queen Blackmire, Sun Temple edge
Nomad Highlands Fell Monstrosity (Flame 5) Cradle of Dusk, Northern Sun Temple
Kindlewastes Fell Sicklescythe (Flame 6) Haunted Sun Temple
Albaneve Summits Fell Dragon Youngling (Flame 8) Albaneve caves, Elixir Well
Veilwater Basin Hydrak’Dal (Flame 9) Drak’Dal Temple
Cinder’s Cradle — (new 1.0 endgame region) Floating islands, 12 new Shroud Roots

The full per-region breakdown — every boss, Hollow Hall, Night Sanctum, and key location — is in the bosses & dungeons hub, and the verified boss pins on real terrain are on the interactive world map.

What changes at 1.0?

The region order and the level/Flame bands carry over from early access, but two things shift at launch:

  • Cinder’s Cradle is the new 7th biome — a northern lava region with floating islands and 12 new Shroud Roots, now the true endgame zone north of Veilwater Basin.
  • The Fell Dragon Youngling is reworked — deeper arena, a new ground/melee phase, reduced HP, fewer hits to stun, a universal weak spot, and parryable rock projectiles. It stays the endgame wall at Flame 8, but the fight itself changes.
  • Exact level/Flame gates get a final pass, and the level cap rises to 50 (from 45; gear cap to 55) with the Flame Altar cap up to 16 (from 10). The bands above are the 1.0 progression values; the 1.0 release overview has the full launch changelog.

For how the two axes interact in the 1.0 build, see the 1.0 release overview.

FAQ

What is the correct order to clear Enshrouded's biomes?
South to north: Springlands → Revelwood → Nomad Highlands → Kindlewastes → Albaneve Summits → Veilwater Basin → Cinder's Cradle. Each region is the exit gate to the next, so you clear them in this sequence.
Do I need a specific level for each biome?
Each region carries an early-access level band — Springlands 1-10, Revelwood 10-15, Nomad Highlands 15-20, Kindlewastes 20-30, Albaneve Summits 30-40, Veilwater Basin 35-45, Cinder's Cradle 45+ (1.0). These are planning bands, not hard walls: the Flame gate around your camp is what actually decides whether the Shroud is survivable.
What does the Flame level control?
The Flame level is the real gate. A boss's Flame requirement decides whether the Shroud in its arena is survivable — go under-Flame and the mist, not the boss, is what kills you. Your Flame level rises by defeating bosses and igniting Flame Altars.
Can I skip ahead to a later biome?
Not usefully. A later biome's Shroud pressure scales with its Flame level, so pushing in early is a death sentence regardless of your character level. Clear each region's Flame gate first.
