Enshrouded Revelwood - Guide, Blackmire & Mid-Game Transition

Revelwood is Enshrouded's second region (levels 10-15, Flame 3) with the Blackmire sub-region. What changes after Springlands and how to cross the fog.

Revelwood is the region where Enshrouded stops holding your hand. Coming out of Springlands, the forest is deeper, the nights are longer, and the Shroud you ignored for your first ten levels now has a real opinion about whether you survive. The Blackmire sub-region makes that pressure concrete: low light, thick mist, and terrain that fights you.

Where Revelwood fits

Fact Value
Level range 10-15
Flame level 3
Role Second region, mid-game transition
Sub-region The Blackmire
Shroud pressure Moderate - the first region where it actively hunts you
Exits to Nomad Highlands

What changes after Springlands

  • The Shroud is a threat now, not a backdrop. In Springlands you could walk through it with light risk. In Revelwood you manage it: keep torches and a Flame Altar close, and plan routes that do not strand you in the open at night.
  • You need a real base, not a camp. This is the point where you should have a second Flame Altar placed at the edge of the Blackmire, so you are not carrying everything across the fog.
  • The Blackmire rewards verticality. The marsh is easiest to cross from above - watchtowers and raised walkways beat fighting through the mud.

Bosses in Revelwood

Revelwood is where the Shroud starts actively hunting you, and its named fights follow.

Boss Flame Core mechanic (verified)
Scavenger Matron 3 One of her four variants; head gives Flame 3 + grapple-hook upgrade
Fell Critter Queen varies Miniboss; stays mobile and ranged; drops Giant Critter Scales

The full per-region boss breakdown is in the bosses & dungeons hub.

Key resources

Revelwood opens the mid-tier crafting inputs you will need for the next two regions.

  • Mid-tier wood and plant materials - deeper-forest yields.
  • Blackmire-specific materials - gathered only in the marsh sub-region, feeding the higher crafting tiers.

Getting to the Nomad Highlands

With a Blackmire-side camp and the region cleared, the next area is the Nomad Highlands (levels 15-20, Flame 4), an open mid-game plateau. Revelwood is the bridge between “learning the game” and “settling in” - the camp you build here is the template for every region after.

For a base layout that fits the Revelwood forest and marsh, see the base design gallery and filter by the Revelwood biome.
