Enshrouded Key Locations - Cindervault, Elixir Wells, Hollow Halls
Enshrouded key locations as a Flame 1-9 route: Cindervault, Elixir Wells, Hollow Halls, and the boss arenas that gate each progression step.
Scope note: This page is written for 1.0 (October 15, 2026) from verified early-access data. The landmark names and their roles are confirmed. Exact coordinates and 1.0-specific layout are marked verify at 1.0.
Enshrouded’s world is big, but you do not need to memorize it. A few locations are the ones that gate your progression - clear them in the right order and the rest of the map opens up. This page is the short list.
The Cindervault (start)
Your spawn point at the heart of Springlands. You commune with the Flame here, craft your first Stone Axe and Flame Altar, and rescue the Blacksmith - the NPC who unlocks the Glider and Grappling Hook. Everything in Enshrouded starts in this stronghold.
Elixir Wells (Fell Thunderbrutes)
Elixir Wells appear across the biomes, each guarded by a Fell Thunderbrute. The Thunderbrute is the slow, heavy Drak you kite for its long pause windows - and it drops a Shroud Core and its head trophy. That makes the Wells the source of your base-expansion material: visit them in the order your Flame level allows, and bank the Cores for Flame Altar expansion.
Hollow Halls (endgame dungeons)
The Hollow Cyclops lives in the Hollow Halls, the endgame dungeons that appear in every biome. Each biome’s Hollow Hall scales to that region, so a Springlands Hollow Hall is far easier than a Veilwater one. Clearing them is how you farm endgame content in the biome you are already in.
The boss arenas, as a Flame 1-9 route
The named boss arenas are the progression gates - kill the boss, take the head, raise your Flame, open the next biome. Bookmark this table: it is the order to clear the world in, from your first head to the Flame 9 cap.
| Flame | Target location | Boss | You bank | You unlock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-2 | The Cindervault (Springlands) | — | First Flame Altar, Stone Axe, rescued Blacksmith | Glider + grappling hook, first biome loop |
| 3 | Hill of Scavengers | Scavenger Matron | Head + grapple-hook upgrade | Flame 3 gate opens deeper Springlands / Revelwood |
| 4 | The Pike, Pikemead’s Reach | Fell Wispwyvern | Head trophy | Flame 4 gate |
| 5 | Cradle of Dusk (Nomad Highlands) | Fell Monstrosity | Head trophy | Flame 5 gate |
| 6 | Haunted Sun Temple (Kindlewastes) | Fell Sicklescythe | Head trophy | Flame 6 gate |
| 7 | Elixir Well (Albaneve Summits) | Fell Cyclops | Head + Shroud Core | Flame 7 gate |
| 8 | Howling Peak (Albaneve Summits) | Fell Dragon Youngling | Head + legendary gear | Flame 8 gate, endgame |
| 9 | Drak’Dal Temple (Veilwater Basin) | Hydrak’Dal | Head (cap) | Flame 9 cap |
Two things to read into the table:
- The Elixir Wells are the recurring nodes. Each biome has one, and each is guarded by a Fell Thunderbrute that drops a Shroud Core - the base-expansion material for your Flame Altar. Clear the Wells as you pass through each biome; do not chase them out of order.
- Some bosses are not on this ladder. The Vukah Brawler and Fell Critter Queen have variable Flame gates by region, and the Hollow Cyclops lives in the Hollow Halls (endgame dungeons in every biome). They are farming and gear targets, not progression gates.
The full roster with locations and Flame gates is on the bosses & dungeons hub, and each arena has its own boss page with the fight breakdown.
Why order matters
You cannot reach Howling Peak at Flame 3. The Elixir Wells open in bands as your Flame rises, so the strategy is always the same: clear the arena for your current Flame band, bank the head and the Shroud Cores, raise the Flame, and move to the next band. Skipping a band means fighting over-Flame content for no extra reward.
For the full biome-by-biome breakdown of what is in each region, the six biome guides cover materials, level ranges, and the regional boss quick-ref.
