Editor’s note: We have been testing this in early access and confirm the mechanics and location described on this page. Where a value could not be confirmed we mark it verify at 1.0 rather than guess - and re-check on launch day. Last verified: 2026-09-20.
Scope note: This page is written for 1.0 (October 15, 2026) from verified early-access data. Mechanics and location are confirmed. HP, drop rates, and phase timings marked verify at 1.0 — re-check on launch day.
Where to find it
The fell dragon youngling lives in Howling Peak, Albaneve Summits — head to Albaneve Summits (final boss) and follow the biome-specific landmark for this arena. See the Flame Altar guide for gate mechanics.
Attack patterns (verified early access)
Confirmed behavior
- Location: Howling Peak, Albaneve Summits
- Gate: Flame 8
- Early-access mechanic: Stun-gated — you must land 200+ stun arrows to break its guard before normal damage counts; it reflects rock projectiles back at you
- 1.0 confirmed: Stun mechanic stays but threshold drops; new ground phase; universal weak spot added; rock projectiles become parryable (see below)
Phase breakdown
Phases are structured for 1.0; only the early-access behavior below is confirmed, the rest is a placeholder for launch-day verification.
Phase 1 — Early access: a stun-gate fight - 200+ stun arrows to break its guard before it opens, and it reflects rock projectiles, so do not spam ranged rock. (1.0 reworks this boss substantially - see below.)
Phase 2 —
Phase 3 —
What changes at 1.0
Confirmed Keen rework for the Fell Dragon Youngling at 1.0 — this is the most detailed boss-specific change the devs announced for launch:
- Deeper arena — Howling Peak gets expanded to give the fight more breathing room
- New ground/melee phase — the dragon was almost entirely aerial in early access; 1.0 adds a ground phase with claw swipes
- Reduced HP — final balance TBD but explicitly stated as a reduction
- Fewer hits to stun — down from 200+ stun arrows to a still-high but reachable number (confirm exact count at launch)
- Universal weak spot — one confirmed weak point instead of the roar-window-only design
- Parryable rock projectiles — you can now parry the rock spam to create stun windows
The stun mechanic stays in place, but becomes accessible to coordinated groups instead of being a solo gatekeeper.
Recommended loadout
Early-access strategy: bring a ranged weapon that inflicts stun (200+ arrows is what you need to break guard), avoid shooting rock projectiles at it (they get reflected back), and coordinate with your group to land stun shots simultaneously. Flame Altar safe-zone within sprint range is non-negotiable — under-Flame, the Shroud kills faster than the dragon.
1.0 strategy (post-rework): the parryable rock projectiles create new stun windows — a parry-focused tank build can create openings for ranged DPS. The universal weak spot means every build has a damage option once guard is broken.

1.0 verification checklist
When 1.0 drops on October 15, re-check these before un-drafting this page:
- HP value (confirm in-game or from patch notes)
- Drop table and drop rates
- Phase count and tell timings
- Any named-attack reworks or balance changes
- Whether gate Flame level shifted
