Enshrouded 1.0 Launch Checklist - What to Do on Launch Day

A launch-day checklist for Enshrouded: what to back up, what to re-check, and what changed. Track your prep in the browser - no login.

Editor’s note: We built this checklist from what the site has already verified and marked everything else not yet independently verified instead of guessing. We re-checked it against the live 1.0 build on October 15, 2026. Last verified: 2026-10-15.

Enshrouded leaves early access on October 15, 2026, and this is the short list of things worth doing as you start the 1.0 build - whether you are brand new or coming back from early access. Tick each item in your browser; nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.

What is the 1.0 launch checklist?

It is a launch-day to-do list, grouped into the three moments that matter: Before you start (general prep), Returning players (coming back from early access), and Day one (launch day itself). Every item is either something you can verify on this site right now or is explicitly marked not yet independently verified - we do not publish a number Keen Games has not confirmed.

What should you do before you start?

Three things are worth doing before you start:

  • Back up your save. Keen’s 1.0 save-migration behavior is worth confirming on your platform - a copy first costs nothing.
  • Check the 1.0 PC requirements on the Steam store page, then compare them against your machine.
  • Set expectations for progression. Keen Games has announced combat and skill-tree changes for 1.0, but the exact point costs and level cap are now checkable against the live build - see the Forging the Path skill tree guide for the 12-path structure that is already confirmed.

What changes for a returning player?

If you last played during early access, your first 1.0 session is mostly re-planning:

  • Rebuild your skill tree first. Update 8 already reset and refunded every point once; plan a fresh 12-path build and expect the full 1.0 skill list to be re-verified against the live build.
  • Re-check the economy. Boss health pools, drop tables, and Flame Altar upgrade costs are all marked not yet independently verified until you check the live build.
  • Confirm your co-op cap. Up to 16 players on PC and up to 8 on PS5 - check crossplay status before you plan a shared world, and compare hosting options if you are running a dedicated server.

What should you do on day one?

Today, on October 15, 2026:

  1. Download the 1.0 build and read the launch patch notes on the updates page.
  2. Grab the center-hub skills first (Double Jump, Blink, Updraft), then commit to one of the 12 paths - the skill tree guide walks through it.
  3. Test your build in a low-level Shroud before you push a boss; the co-op team planner scales your squad if you are not solo.
  4. Re-verify anything marked not yet independently verified against the live build - the site re-checks every flagged page on launch day.

Where do you re-check the confirmed 1.0 scope?

Two pages track the launch: the updates page lists every patch in order, and the 1.0 launch page carries the confirmed scope for day one. For the wider picture, the 1.0 update overview and should you buy 1.0 cover what changes and who the launch is for. New players should start with the beginner guide; anyone choosing a version should read the platform breakdown.

FAQ

What is the Enshrouded 1.0 launch checklist?
A launch-day to-do list grouped into three moments - Before you start, Returning players, and Day one. Each item is either verifiable on this site now or marked not yet independently verified, so nothing is guessed before the live build shipped.
Do I need to back up my save before 1.0?
It is the safe move, but Keen's 1.0 save-migration behavior is worth confirming on your platform, so a backup first still costs nothing rather than risk a wipe or a broken carry-over. Update 8 already refunded every skill point once.
What changes for a returning player at 1.0?
Expect skill-tree and level-cap changes. Keen Games has announced combat and progression changes for 1.0, but exact point costs, boss health pools and drop tables are now verifiable against the live 1.0 build.
Where do I re-check the confirmed 1.0 scope?
The updates page tracks every patch in order, and the 1.0 launch page carries the confirmed scope. Both are to be verified at 1.0.
