If you are about to buy Enshrouded 1.0, this is the practical guide: which platform, when, and what you are getting at launch.

When does Enshrouded 1.0 launch?

Platform Date
PC (Steam) October 15, 2026
PS5 October 15, 2026
Xbox Series X/S Spring 2027

PC and PS5 launch on the same day. Xbox players wait until spring 2027.

Where to buy on each platform

  • PC: Steam. The 1.0 build replaces the early access version; existing early access players are updated in place. As of September 8, 2026 the Steam price is €39.99 (Keen raised it by €10 ahead of 1.0; existing owners are not charged the difference).
  • PS5: PlayStation Store, same-day as PC. Player cap is 8 on PS5 (vs 16 on PC).
  • Xbox: Available from spring 2027.

What changes from early access to 1.0?

The most significant change is the Forging the Path skill tree rebuild (Update 8), which restructured the entire skill system into 12 class paths across three color categories plus a central hub. See the Forging the Path skill tree guide for the full breakdown.

Other confirmed changes (full breakdown in the 1.0 update overview):

  • All six biomes are open, including Veilwater Basin (added November 2025)
  • An expanded world (new area) and performance optimizations for 16-player servers
  • The game is leaving early access

What should you check before launch day?

  1. System requirements (PC): Verify your PC meets the 1.0 requirements - the early access specs may differ. The official specs are on the Steam page.
  2. Early access save compatibility: If you have an early access save, confirm whether it carries over to 1.0 or if a fresh start is required. Keen has not announced a save-migration tool at launch; PC early-access saves are expected to update in place, but cross-platform carry-over is not promised.
  3. Co-op / cross-play: As of 1.0, cross-platform play (PC ↔ console) is not confirmed - Keen describes it only as a “possible long-term goal.” PC-to-PC co-op works fully (up to 16 via dedicated server); PS5 co-op is up to 8. Plan your friends’ platforms accordingly until cross-play is officially announced.

Is 1.0 the right time to buy?

The short answer is yes for most players. You get the final skill system, all six biomes, and the game’s official launch - without the risk of further major redesigns. The should-you-buy-1.0 comparison walks through the decision from both returner and new player perspectives.
