Enshrouded Base Design Ideas - Inspiration Gallery for 6 Biomes
Filterable base-design gallery for Enshrouded: 6 Flame Altar camp concepts across all biomes, with build tips, styles, and a screenshot slot for your own builds.
Building in Enshrouded is pure creative expression - there is no base-attack or destruction mechanic at 1.0, so a camp is judged on how it looks and how well it works, not on whether it survives a siege. That makes the base gallery the most visual part of the site: instead of a wall of text, this page shows six Flame Altar camp concepts, one per biome, so you can pick a layout that fits the region you are settling.
The interactive base gallery
Filter by biome (Springlands through Veilwater) or by style (Forest, Mountain, Desert, Coastal, and more). Each card shows the concept, what the camp is for, and a short build tip.

The Grovestead Camp
SpringlandsA low, tucked-in camp under the tutorial forest canopy. The classic first base: a single Flame Altar surrounded by a compact workshop, a small garden, and a storage shed, all within the 40×40 build zone.
Build tip: Keep it small and flat. Springlands is where you learn placement — a tight ring around the altar means every station is a short walk and the safe zone covers everything.

The Blackmire Watch
RevelwoodA deeper-forest hideaway on the edge of the Blackmire marsh. Watchtowers and covered walkways push the camp over the fog line, with a defensible perimeter for the heavier Shroud that rolls in at this level band.
Build tip: Elevate on stilts or a raised platform. Revelwood rewards verticality — higher stations see further and the marsh below stays out of your buildable space.

The Highland Terrace
Nomad HighlandsA terraced plateau base built into the mid-game highlands. Stepped foundations follow the natural contour, with windbreaks of stone and a central forge facing the open sky.
Build tip: Use the terrain instead of fighting it. Cut steps into the slope and let the cliff walls act as natural defense against the open, exposed approach.

The Ember Bazaar
KindlewastesA shaded desert compound built for the Kindlewastes heat. Thick-walled rooms with small openings, covered courtyards, and water stations cluster close around the altar to beat the scorching hazards.
Build tip: Design for heat, not just looks. Minimize open floor, add shade structures, and keep crafting that needs water (refining, dyeing) under cover near the lagoon.

The Frostkeep
Albaneve SummitsA late-game frozen stronghold on the Albaneve peaks. Ice-anchored walls, a reinforced altar, and a stockpile hall huddle against the wind, built to hold a large expedition camp.
Build tip: Build compact and wind-sheltered. At 30-40 the open Shroud is deadly — a tight, walled footprint keeps the safe zone efficient and the camp survivable.

The Tidal Outpost
Veilwater BasinAn endgame tropical base on the Veilwater shore. Palm-framed docks, an open terrace facing the lagoon, and elevated craft rooms make the most of the warm, coastal endgame region.
Build tip: Play to the coastline. Veilwater (35-45) is your endgame showcase — use the water edge for docks and fishing, and keep the altar high enough to clear the tide line.
Screenshot note: the images above are official Enshrouded in-game screenshots (© Keen Games), resized to the card’s 16:9 frame. Each card pairs a real capture with the build tip you apply to your own region. The end goal of this gallery is first-party per-biome base captures, which replace these 1:1 as they become available.

Why a base gallery (and not just text)?
Most Enshrouded building content is written as a list of tips. A gallery works better here because:
- It is visual first. You want to see a base, not read about one. The grid lets you browse layouts the way you would browse a design board.
- It is categorizable. The same “cozy camp” idea looks different in Springlands versus the Kindlewastes. Filtering by biome and style matches how you actually search: “enshrouded base ideas”, “enshrouded building inspiration”, or “enshrouded [biome] base”.
- It is a screenshot slot. Every card has a fixed place for your own capture, so the page grows into a community build showcase over time.
The six biomes, at a glance
The gallery is organized around the six 1.0 biomes. The level bands are a planning guide - the Flame level is what actually decides whether the Shroud around your camp is survivable, so confirm exact gates in-game.
| # | Biome | Level band | Base character |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Springlands | 1-10 | Tight tutorial camp, flat and small |
| 2 | Revelwood | 10-15 | Deep-forest hideaway, elevated |
| 3 | Nomad Highlands | 15-20 | Terraced plateau, uses the slope |
| 4 | Kindlewastes | 20-30 | Shaded desert compound, heat-proof |
| 5 | Albaneve Summits | 30-40 | Compact frozen stronghold, wind-sheltered |
| 6 | Veilwater Basin | 35-45 | Tropical endgame base on the shore |
How to read a concept
Each card is a starting point, not a blueprint. Read it as:
- The layout - where the Flame Altar sits relative to the stations and the terrain.
- The build tip - the one decision that makes the base work in that region (elevation, shade, wind, coastline).
- The styles - tags so you can filter for a mood (Cozy, Harsh, Tropical) rather than just a region.
Start from a concept, then adapt it to your own plot. The Flame Altar is the anchor: place it first on Shroud-free ground, and everything else fills in around its build zone.
Next steps
- For how the Flame Altar works (placement, build zone, safe zone, respec), see the Enshrouded beginner guide.
- For what 1.0 changes across the whole world, see the 1.0 release overview.
- If you are organizing a group camp, the co-op team planner maps roles to the skill tree.
